When I was 20, I first learned about love languages. I was researching how to be a good girlfriend at the time because I had no idea what I was doing in that relationship.
Acts of Service …
Quality Time …
Words of Affirmation …
Gift Giving …
Physical Touch …
All of these languages (not just one of them) can be used to express love in a way that demonstrates to the recipient of your affection just how much you value and appreciate them. And how loving them is a conscious decision you make everyday.
I’ve learned a great deal since I was 20, and I’ve learned to utilise these tools to the best of my ability when interacting with those closest to me. However, I continue to struggle greatly with words of affirmation. Perhaps this is because I have not yet figured out how to demonstrate this language to myself.
So here goes;
I love you, Itasoha.
Your mind is so impressive!
You’re amazing!
You deserve joy.
You’re doing a really good job.
I’m so proud of you!
You’re beautiful!
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you, Itasoha.
